SERRANÍA
This 2024, we have launched a new line of activities to complement those we already offer. SERRANÍA is a project where we analyze socio-economic and environmental conflicts and address them through local, traditional, and rural knowledge. The initiative aims to create an open and welcoming space, featuring a program of planned activities guided by facilitators who ensure all participants have the opportunity to express themselves and learn from one another.
SERRANÍA's main goal is to promote youth participation in rural communities, focusing on environmental sustainability, conflict transformation, and the protection of human rights from a local perspective. Furthermore, we aim to create a space where young people can explore and celebrate traditional knowledge and cultural identity, transforming them into agents of change within their communities.
- Build a network of local youth who promote dialogue, sustainable practices, and environmental preservation by revitalizing traditional crafts that respect ecological balance.
- Provide participants with tools to take action and discover meaningful ways to participate at a local level, addressing socio-economic issues such as unemployment and the low engagement of certain sectors.
- Redefine and strengthen local identity, promoting inclusion and active participation among diverse youth. We seek to create inclusive spaces for people of all ages, genders, and groups, represented through the traveling performance
SERRANÍA: REPLICATION GUIDE
We believe the project has been a great success and could serve as a useful methodology for other groups of people. In our view, this is the first step toward encouraging active youth participation in public affairs. During the course of the activities, we were able to develop and draft a Replication Guide, containing all the necessary information to implement and expand our methodology.
